Iris Beatrix Cegarra is an American-Venezuelan Producer, Director and Editor dedicated to film and video production for over fifteen years. Cutting edge and experimental, she’s a visual communicator who draws from her documentary experience to add artistic flair and pop culture influences to her work.
She began her career producing independent documentaries: Bass Frequency (2001), Electro Dziska (2003), and an award-winning and world-acclaimed documentary Darkbeat: An Electro World Voyage (2006) featured in over 10 film festivals world wide.
Iris has directed an international commercial for Circle K’s Polar Pop. She has also directed music videos for reggae band Rasun and EDM producer KromOzone Project. Iris Beatrix has edited various music videos for popular artists such as Sally Shapiro, Pitbull, Sean Kingston, and Benny Benassi to name a few. As a Video Artist, Iris Beatrix is constantly producing video “mash-ups” uniquely combining different media to create visually stimulating video art pieces.
Iris regularly works as a creative producer and editor with MTV Latin America. She was deeply involved on the on-air and off air promotional campaign for MTV’s latest smash reality TV show Acapulco Shore (2014). Most recently, she has started to work with Discovery Latin America as a video editor.
Iris Beatrix was been added to the Art Institute’s Wall Of Fame at MIU (Miami International University of Art & Design). Her journey is far from over and she is constantly growing and experimenting with visual mediums to becoming one step closer to making history as the innovator behind producing the first Electro Musical and becoming a ground breaking video artist.
Iris is also represented by one of Miami’s most established and versatile production companies, Native Films.
